The CCPForge service – initially set up with JISC funding and currently maintained by the Software Engineering Group with funds from EPSRC - is an important part of the Collaborative Computational Project (CCP - http://www.ccp.ac.uk/).
It provides software development projects funded by the CCPs all the tools required to help manage the development process, including:
* Source code control (CVS, Subversion).
* Software downloads for source or pre-compiled versions.
* Flexible licensing of software.
* User forums for help from other users and developer discussions.
* Tracking of support requests, feature requests, bugs.
* Traditional mailing lists.
* Task management.
* Documentation repository.
* Flexible access control to information based on “roles”.
The CCPForge Service currently supports over 50 major software projects and has over 700 registered users.
